The Art Behind the Festival
Deepawali (or Diwali) has always been more than a festival of lights for me. It’s a time of reflection, observation, and quiet joy. Over the past decade, after completing the customary celebrations at home, I step out with my camera to experience the festival in a way that goes beyond just watching fireworks. Over the years, this has become a tradition — a moment I wholeheartedly dedicate to making images that hold the essence, rhythm, and emotion of the night.

Photography as an Experience
Photography, for me, has never been about simply pressing the shutter. It is a process of seeing before capturing — understanding where the scene is heading, waiting for the sky to open up, sensing how the colors will blend, and preparing for the exact second when everything aligns. There is patience in it. There is timing in it. There is knowledge, practice, and a sense of calm anticipation.

The Vision Behind the Frame
Fireworks last only a moment, but the image lives longer. And the challenge lies in envisioning that moment before it even happens. There’s calculation involved in exposure and light, decision-making in composition, and most importantly, an emotional connection to the moment itself. The camera records what happens, but vision decides how it is remembered.
Each photograph in this collection is a memory of standing still in the middle of celebration, listening to the echoes in the sky, watching the city breathe in color, and being present enough to witness both the chaos and the quiet. This is Diwali, not just as seen, but as felt.
